Holy Week at KPC

Every year Christians all over the world celebrate the most significant eight days of Jesus time on earth.  Events framed by Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem and his resurrection are some of the most dramatic and theologically important of the entire scriptural narrative. These days feature not only the drama of the triumphal entry, trial, last supper, and crucifixion but also poignant prayers and prophetic teachings of our Lord. John’s gospel devotes eight of its twenty-one chapters to this week alone! The week begins with Passion/Palm Sunday and ends after “three days” (also called the Triduum, from sunset on Thursday to sunset on Easter Day), the period during which we mark Jesus’ trial, death, and resurrection.

I hope you are able to join us in person or online for the following special services celebrating Holy week at KPC

Palm Sunday March 23, 10 am
Good Friday MArch 29, 10 am
Easter Sunday MArch 30th 10 am

 Janet Thomson Meeting

very big THANK YOU to the Men's Breakfast group for their donation of $165.00 to the Refugee Sponsorship Fund.

Lenten calendars are still available on the Greeters Table at the main entrance and in the lounge after the Sunday Service. They provide an opportunity to donate to the Refugee Sponsorship Fund for blessings which we so often take for granted. Although we are well into the Lenten season, you can still count your blessing from the first day of Lent and make a donation based on the entry for each day.  Bring your donations of cash or cheque to church on Easter Sunday. Cheques should be made payable to KPC, (with Refugee Fund on the memo line).  Cash should be in an envelope with your name and labelled Refugee Fund. You can also donate using the Kerrisdale Church website.  THIS LINK  takes you directly to the online donation page. Simply enter the amount of your donation, click the CHANGE button (next to KPC General Fund) and scroll down to select Refugee Sponsorship Fund. Continue down the page to enter your billing and credit card information.

Request for help: The Metro Vancouver Alliance, an organization that our Presbytery belongs to, is working on a campaign to protect and increase housing co-ops to help with the affordable housing crisis in this area. We want to hear if you have ever lived in a co-op or have family or friends who do. If you do, and if you think they would take a few minutes to speak with us about the value of co-op housing, that would be fabulous. Please speak with Glen Davis about this. Contact: gjidavis@telus.net. Thank you for your help!
